Another Poly!
These great Poly tips come from our friend - Nocturnal -. Although I'm a rogue right now, this seems like some great info to have. Thanks Noc!Also, be sure to comment on this post to help answer the questions, if you have any answers, or more info!
I've never paid much attention to Polymorphing and decided to research exactly how it works. There aren't many good threads in the forums and nothing on the wikis that really lays it out well. So I am going to summarize it here (sorry for repeating some stuff that others above me wrote) and ask questions to clarify.
So - How "high" up you are able to reach doesn't depend on your level, it depends upon your attack/defense and general/equipment AND your opponent's attack/defense and general/equipment?
If I understand correctly, it basically makes you ~50% stronger then you are currently so that you can morph tough opponents...and you don't do any damage but you "bind" them and you do receive the points (160/200/240). An icon appears next to their name. Then, either yourself or a teammate will do the second attack while they are morphed and it is a guaranteed victory.
Since it is a guaranteed victory, you would want a Rogue to hit the target for the most damage - hopefully with the rogue general, Deshara equipped (why not, you are guaranteed the win - go for the damage) - or Deianira if you don't have Desh.
You don't want a stunned person to hit a morphed person that is a guaranteed win....since they do half damage it would be a big waste...
You can use it to block someone and not hit them to break the morph...to render their attacks ineffective. If you are morphed and attack someone, it shows as a defeat, you only get 50 points, and you do 0 damage and receive 0 damage.
If the mage attempts to morph someone that is too strong for them, they will resist the morph. I don't know if the mage gets any points in this case?
If you are a cleric and a teammate has the icon showing they are morphed and you heal them, you will break the morph from them AND heal them?
If you see a teammate is already successfully taking out a target (for example their health is declining and they don't have points from attacking), it is a bit of a waste to morph that target unless you are going to hit that target yourself right away and couldn't otherwise.
If you are a mage and you have a teammate that is lower level that is a rogue (or anything really), you can work together once the only targets left are the stronger enemies that you can morph for them.
If it is a close fight and your health is low (you don't want to be stunned or go below 200) - morphing a target and then hitting is good because you won't lose any health when hitting a morphed target.
Ok...that is what I have gathered from reading random things about polymorphing and what I have experienced myself...and I still have a few questions above if anyone can answer those. :) Am I missing anything or a good strategy/use of polymorphing?
Noc, excellent info!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the info! Makes more sense now
ReplyDeleteCasting heal on a poly'd teammate will NOT break poly.
ReplyDeleteHello seven sins. I'm trying to join an active guild with my fairly new FB account. I sent invites to the officers (char name Stinky Toad) and since they took away the chat button I found this site through your guild description page. Low level ATM, but if you look at your battle against United Forces in April you'll see my iOS acct was battle point leader. Battle as often as I can, hope we can help each other but if not good luck!
ReplyDeleteOh yeah, I believe poly's reach was reduced to 25%.. Not 50%.
ReplyDeleteCheers!
What's you army code
DeleteHi amphibian what is your code
ReplyDeleteWhen someone under poly. He can't get victory in att. if he is a cleric, he will fail to heal. It will waste one toke of your enemy. moreover, you can get the guild coin as you attack an enemy.
